Mountain Shire: Books & Gifts is a warm and cozy independent bookstore filled with a wide variety of books and unique gifts to choose from. The three main book sections of the Shire are Regional / Local Interest, Fiction, and Children’s. Each section welcomes you to linger and check out books in the comfort of chairs and benches.

Find us at the Cooper Creek Square in Winter Park, Colorado. We welcome book lovers from all around the world especially, our local literary enthusiasts from Granby, Kremmling, Fraser, Grand Lake, Tabernash, Empire, Idaho Springs, and Denver.

Reading is marvelous and powerful and we will work to foster a community of readers of all ages who will preserve and pass down, from generation to generation, their appreciation, love, and power of the written word.

A place where readers will enjoy browsing stacks of books, researching new trails, attending book clubs, discovering new genres, perusing recipe books, and more. Talked to the owner who mentioned they had only been open 2 months. WOW. Lovely space, well appointed, excellent selection of and superb taste in books. Journals, candles, and knick knacks that you’d actually want to buy. Wish we could have spent more time here—a hidden gem!
